US Second Lady Dr. Biden Visits MSI in Niger
Second Lady of the United States Dr. Jill Biden recently visited Marie Stopes Niger to observe reproductive health service delivery on the ground.
The visit was part of her three-country tour to Africa to engage government and civil society partners on issues related to economic empowerment and educational opportunities for women and girls.
The US Agency for International Development (USAID) is a significant donor to Marie Stopes Niger, so the visit was as an amazing opportunity to show the positive impact the Agency’s funding is making on women’s lives in Niger, Africa. Dr. Biden took time to speak to clients and hear about the impact contraception makes to their lives and the obstacles they previously faced when trying to access family planning and reproductive healthcare.
