MSI United States (MSI US) is delighted to welcome two new board members with deep ties to our mission and a wealth of experience advancing women’s health around the world.

Glenda Burkhart is chair of the MSI Board of Trustees and brings significant experience from the not-for-profit and commercial sectors. Her career has focused on large-scale organizational change, working in corporate executive roles for companies such as Millipore, Reader’s Digest and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Glenda also brings substantial board experience, serving on the board of the Women’s Refugee Commission, the International Rescue Committee Overseers and Tusk USA.

As a lifelong advocate of women’s health and reproductive rights, she knows that this is a critical time for MSI’s mission, and we’re grateful to have her with us.

Dr. Mohsina Bilgrami

Dr. Mohsina Bilgrami is a pioneer in sexual and reproductive health, who established MSI’s program in Pakistan in 1991. She oversaw the program’s expansion from just one center to more than 100, and expanded outreach services to reach underserved and marginalized families all across the country.

More recently, Mohsina served as MSI’s West Asia Regional Director, providing technical support to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Mohsina retired from MSI in 2020 after almost 30 years with the organization, but will continue to support MSI’s mission as a member of the Board of Trustees.

MSI US President Marjorie Newman-Williams said: “Glenda and Mohsina have both contributed so much to MSI’s mission already, and we are delighted that they have chosen to bring their insight to our work in the US. We welcome their experience and true passion for our work, and we know that with their help MSI US will reach new supporters committed to reproductive rights and choice.”

MSI US would also like to thank Mitchell Warren, who is stepping down from the MSI US board, for his support and guidance over the years. His support through times of transition and growth has been invaluable, and we know he’ll continue to be an effective advocate for women’s health around the world.
